| not a huge fan of farce, hence the rating, but act 2 was very clever...... | ||
| Lia Buddle | Very funny, very well observed and extremely clever, with a great cast. Sustained an amazing pace & the physical farce was a joy to behold. Enjoyed myself thoroughly! |

| Synopsis | ||
| Having broken box office records at the Old Vic, Noises Off marks the Old Vic Theatre Company's very first West End transfer. Michael Frayn's Olivier Award-winning play follows the backstage politics and onstage disasters of a touring farce. Hurtling along at breakneck speed their disastrous dress rehearsal, full of fluffed lines and wrong footing props, soon leads on to a shambolic mid-tour performance and a catastrophic final night full of soured relationships and tangled love triangles. The transfer sees Jonathan Coy, Janie Dee, Robert Glenister, Jamie Glover, Celia Imrie, Karl Johnson and Paul Ready reprise their roles under the acclaimed direction of Lindsay Posner. Robert Glenister is best known for starring in the BBC's Hustle and Spooks, whilst Celia Imrie is well-known for her roles in award-winning comedy shows Acorn Antiques and Dinner Ladies. Lindsay Posner has a huge range of credits to his name from A View From The Bridge to House Of Games and most recently a revival of Mike Leigh's hilarious comedy Abigail's Party at the Menier Chocolate Factory. First performed in 1982 at the Lyric Hammersmith, where it starred Patricia Routledge, Paul Eddington and Nicky Henderson, the acclaimed premiere production also secured a West End transfer, settling in at the Savoy theatre for a phenomenal, award-winning 5 year run. |
