Word of this reaches Anest’s daughter Menna, who rushes to her long abandoned childhood home where her own ideas of love and compromise are tested to the limit. Salt, Root And Roe is staged as part of the Donmar Trafalgar season, showcasing the work of directors who were part of the Donmar Warehouse’s Resident Assistant Directors scheme. Hamish Pirie, who directs Salt, Root And Roe was at the Donmar Warehouse in 2006, where he worked on productions including The Cut, Phaedra, A Voyage Round My Father, Frost/Nixon, The Cryptogram and Don Juan In Soho. 3.1
